At the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism of Benito Juárez we are committed to social and inclusive responsibility, which is why we constantly train and develop different activities that contribute positively to tourist inclusion.

Navega con Amigos 2022

In December 2022, 100 girls and boys from Melchor Ocampo in Puerto Juárez, El Porvenir and DIF Benito Juárez, took a tour on a "Captain Hook" boat where they had fun with the pirate show, food and the trip through the mexican caribbean sea.

Navega con Amigos 2023

In May 2023, 100 girls and boys in a vulnerable situation took a catamaran tour with the support of Cancún Sailing along the beaches of Cancún-Isla Mujeres and a meal provided by the same company.

Aquaworld Submarine Tour

In May 2023, in coordination with the Social Management Department and Aquaworld Cancun, more than 60 girls and boys enjoyed the great fauna and flora that exists underwater on a submarine tour.

Educatur - CINEMEX

In commemoration of the month of the mothers of the year 2023, a presentation of EDUCATUR was made in order to share with the attendees about tourism in our municipality, from the archaeological zones to biodiversity. At the end, the Mario Bros movie was screened for free.

PLAN DE ACCIÓN MUNICIPAL CONTRA LA ESCNNA DE BENITO JUÁREZ

The Secretary of Tourism is an integral part of the Action Plan against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents of Benito Juárez together for a better Cancun.

For our City Council of Benito Juarez, children and adolescents are the most valuable resource, so we are against all work or exploitation towards them.

This Secretary is part of The Code always in favor of the Girls, boys and adolescents of Cancun.

Taking care of children and adolescents speaks of the human quality of this tourist destination worldwide.

ACCESSIBILITY AND TOURIST SERVICE

Together with the Architect Miren Eukene Vicente Ertze — who is in charge of the CIP Cancun office — adaptations and remodelations were made at the entrance of the Directorate of Tourism, in order to make them accessible to all tourists.

TRAINING IN INCLUSIVITY OF THE STAFF OF THE GDMT OF BENITO JUÁREZ

With the aim of providing adequate tourist attention to each visitor, the personnel of the tourism department has been trained in different courses which include: Mexican Sign Language, Protocols for attention to people with disabilities and sensitivity in attention.

EDUCATUR - TALKS ON INCLUSIVE TOURIST CULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

With the purpose of generating tourist awareness in children attending elementary and secondary school in the Municipality of Benito Juarez, a tourist seminar was designed, developed, and taught in which two important topics are addressed: “Inclusive Tourism Culture” and “Environmental Sustainability”.

In its first post-pandemic phase, an impact has been made in over 250 children from different elementary schools. These talks teach the history of the tourist place they inhabit, the importance of tourist activity, what tourist culture is and how it becomes inclusive, in addition to the positive impact of caring for the cultural heritage that Cancun and Puerto Juarez have.

DEAF Festival 2022

The General Directorate of Municipal Tourism of Benito Juarez and the Department of Attention to People with disabilities worked together with the Deaf Association of Mexico to bring about the first festival for deafs in Cancun in June 2022. It was organized by deaf people with the purpose of defending and learning about the social, cultural, and linguistic rights of the deaf community.

For about a week different cultural activities, visits, and conferences were held in the city. The GDMT provided various support for the realization of the event such as: facemasks with the official logo of DEAF Cancun and box lunches on the opening day.

APAC CAMP 2022

On September 20th, the General Directorate of Municipal Tourism of Benito Juárez, together with coordinators of APAC, IAP, and the support of sponsors, allowed members of Camp APAC 2022 to enjoy the inclusive beach “Las Perlas” and Cancun Park.

The president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF), Verónica Lezama, socialized with the children of APAC which was of great importance for the group. In addition, staff of Paradisus Cancun and its departments, offered lunch for every participant of this camp.
